Candle Care & Safety
Enhance the enjoyment, longevity and safety of your candle with these simple care tips.
Trim the Wick
Before lighting, trim the wick to approximately ¼ inch (0.6 cm). A longer wick can cause excessive smoke, soot and uneven burning.
Use a Heat-Resistant Surface
Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials. This prevents accidents and protects your furniture.
Avoid Drafts
Keep your candle away from drafts, as they can cause flickering, uneven burning, or even extinguish the flame prematurely.
Let the Wax Melt Evenly
On the first burn, allow the wax to melt evenly across the entire surface. This helps prevent tunneling, where unburned wax is left around the edges.
Burn in Intervals
Burn your candle for a maximum of 3–4 hours at a time. Allow the wax to cool and solidify before relighting to prevent overheating and extend the candle’s life.
Extinguish Safely
Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame to avoid wax splatter or wick damage. Avoid using the lid to extinguish the candle.
Keep the Wax Pool Clean
Remove any debris or wick trimmings from the wax pool before burning. This ensures a clean burn and prevents the wick from being submerged.
Store Properly
Store your candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Extreme temperatures can affect the candle’s quality, fragrance and burn time.
Burn Responsibly
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
- Always follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions and warnings.
By following these tips, you’ll enjoy a cleaner, longer-lasting burn while ensuring your safety and preserving the quality of your candle.
